Book your own performance

We're always up for taking The Forgotten Tales as far and wide as we can, and have provided some more information to help below.  If you're interested in bringing the show to your event or venue then please get in touch using the form below.

Format and Timing

The Forgotten Tales is entirely performed by one actor, fusing live renditions of traditional and modern folk-song with expertly crafted storytelling; presenting over twenty unique characters through six different stories.

The production is highly flexible and can be tailored to suit any event and programme as required. It can be told as an abridged one-act show lasting about an hour, or else can be fully extended and given an interval to create a full-length theatrical evening event.  The stories can also be broken up and told independently throughout an event, or told as pop-up pieces to give a more troubadour-style performance.

...we couldn’t have booked a better company to start our winter season; it has been an absolute pleasure working with Parable Arts.

Ideal Audience

The Forgotten Tales is very universal production, seamlessly blending comedy, drama, tension and tragedy.  It is equally well suited to an audience of adults or an audience of mixed ages, though as a rough guideline we'd say it's suitable for age 10 and above (at parental discretion).  Some of the stories do incorporate some otherworldly and ethereal characters, and in a few cases there are some downright evil antagonists, but there is nothing in any of the stories that has been found to shock or upset younger audiences, and there are no themes or messages that are distinctly adult.

The show drew new audiences and put us in contact with members of the public and customers we had not yet reached with other work so we were delighted with Parables Arts’ The Forgotten Tales and highly recommend both the company and show.

Venue and Pricing

We'll take The Forgotten Tales to almost any sort of venue, and we're always keen to find a new place to perform.  This style of traditional storytelling, combined with the use of live music and folk-song, gives The Forgotten Tales an irresistibly intimate atmosphere, so it is best suited to venues that can accommodate and encourage this environment.

Pricing can be a flat fee per show, and discounts are available for those booking multiple performances.  Profit-share options are also available on enquiry.

They delivered what they promised: a high quality, intimate show that our audiences really enjoyed.
